Bilge Olgaç — Biography
Bilge Olgaç (1940, Vize, Kırklareli – 3 March 1994, Istanbul) was a Turkish film director and screenwriter. One of the few women directors of the Yeşilçam era, she directed around forty films over a career spanning more than thirty years and wrote numerous screenplays.
She is known for films such as Linç (1970), Kaşık Düşmanı (1984), Gülüşan (1985), İpekçe (1987), Yarın Cumartesi (1988) and Kurşun Adres Sormaz (1992); her final film was Bir Yanımız Bahar Bahçe (1994). The Uçan Süpürge International Women's Film Festival presents a Bilge Olgaç Achievement Award in her memory, and her life was the subject of the documentary "Kameranın Ardındaki Kadın Bilge Olgaç".
