Berke Özer — Biography
Berke Özer is a goalkeeper who came through Altınordu's academy, moved to Fenerbahçe and in 2025 settled into the Lille goal in France, making his senior Turkey debut the same year. The Turkish press often calls him a former Fenerbahçe goalkeeper; at Lille he is the first choice.
He began with gymnastics, swimming and basketball, then started football in 2011 in Bucaspor's academy as a centre-back; saving penalties in one match moved him into goal. At Altınordu he won the Aegean group title with the U-14s and finished runner-up in Turkey with the U-17s. He signed professionally in 2016, kept a clean sheet on his debut against Boluspor on 14 April 2017 and made The Guardian's list of top under-18 talents. He joined Fenerbahçe in 2018 and, after a loan at Westerlo, entered the Süper Lig in October 2021 after Altay Bayındır's injury, took over the goal and made key saves in the 2-1 derby win at Galatasaray. He signed for Eyüpspor in January 2023, spent the season on loan at Ümraniyespor and joined Lille on a four-season deal on 14 August 2025.
He began with the U-15s in 2015 and played every match at the 2017 European U-17 Championship as Turkey reached the semi-final. Fatih Terim called him up as a back-up in June 2017, Vincenzo Montella included him in March 2025 and he made his senior debut against the United States on 7 June 2025.
