Berkay Vardar — Biography

Berkay Vardar (born 14 January 2003 in Istanbul) is a professional footballer who holds both Turkish and Azerbaijani citizenship and plays in a central midfield role. Standing 1.88 meters tall, he came through Beşiktaş's youth system before joining the club's professional squad in 2021.

During the 2023-24 season he was loaned to Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol, and in April 2024 his contract with Beşiktaş was terminated; he subsequently signed with 1. Lig club Fatih Karagümrük. Earlier in his career he represented Turkey at youth international level, with some sources also linking him to Azerbaijan's junior national teams.

In December 2024, Turkish media reported that Vardar, along with former Beşiktaş teammate Emirhan Delibaş, had received a doping suspension, a development the two players addressed in a joint statement.
