Berkay Şahin — Biography

Berkay Şahin, known by his stage name Berkay, is a singer who entered the pop scene with the album Ele İnat in 2010 and collected a series of best-newcomer awards. Seven years after releasing the album İz in 2019, he returned to listeners in 2026 with a new album, Kavi.

The child of a Laz family from Arhavi in Artvin, Berkay was born in Ankara; he lived in İzmir from 1996 and moved to Istanbul in 2009. Before his albums he gained his first stage experience performing at venues in resort towns such as Bodrum, Antalya, Çeşme and Kuşadası. Ele İnat was well received by listeners, and the songs Aşk Sadece (2012) and Doksana Bir Kala (2013) followed. The albums he released on the Avrupa Müzik label, Aşk Melekleri (2014), Benim Hikayem (2015), Arabest (2016) and Yansıma (2017), are the main works of this period. In the same years he released singles such as Uygun Adım, Ey Aşk and the duet with Tepki, Deli Et Beni; he kept making music with Atma (Piyanist 2) in 2022 and Yas Tutarak in 2025.

The singer, who has been married to the model Özlem Ada Şahin since 2016, has three children.
