Berkay Dabanlı — Biography
Berkay Tolga Dabanlı was born on 27 June 1990 in Frankfurt, Germany, and built a career as a 1.90m centre-back holding both Turkish and German citizenship. He started out at FSV Frankfurt before moving to Turkey with Eskişehirspor, then returned to Germany with spells at Bayer 04 Leverkusen and 1. FC Nürnberg, and later played for Kayserispor.
He joined Kocaelispor in early 2022, and during the 2024-25 season was a regular in Fatih Karagümrük's back line, featuring in matches against sides such as Erzurumspor, Keçiörengücü, Gençlerbirliği and Sakaryaspor. Having moved repeatedly between Turkey and Germany over the course of his career, Dabanlı currently plays for Swiss club Rapperswil-Jona.
