Berat Özdemir — Biography
Berat Ayberk Özdemir was born on 23 May 1998 in the Melikgazi district of Kayseri and plays as a defensive midfielder, standing 1.87 metres tall. He joined the Gençlerbirliği youth academy in 2008 and turned professional midway through the 2016-17 season, spending a season and a half with Hacettepe, the club's feeder side in the second tier, before returning to Gençlerbirliği's first team and making his senior debut against Osmanlıspor on 31 August 2018.
He signed for Trabzonspor on 5 January 2021 and won the Süper Lig title in 2021-22 along with two Turkish Super Cups. On 9 August 2022 he moved to Saudi club Al-Ittifaq for a fee of 5 million euros, before returning to Trabzonspor on a free loan on 4 September 2023. When that loan ended on 30 June 2024, he joined İstanbul Başakşehir on 9 August 2024. An only child, Özdemir has also studied coaching at Ankara University's Faculty of Sport Sciences.
