Benhur Babaoğlu — Biography

Benhur Babaoğlu is a retired Turkish footballer born on March 29, 1970, in Siirt. A forward by position, he began his professional career with Malatyaspor before soon moving to his hometown club, Siirtspor.

A turning point in his career came in the 1993-1994 season, when he was transferred to Galatasaray under head coach Rainer Hollmann. That top-flight spell was followed by a long career spanning clubs such as Antalyaspor, Eskişehirspor, Fenerbahçe, Yozgatspor, Diyarbakırspor, Sakaryaspor, Uşakspor, and Beykozspor. At the international level, he earned a single U-21 cap against Denmark.

A serious injury sustained while playing for Beykozspor in the 2002-2003 season brought his professional playing career to an end. After retiring, he stayed connected to the sport by serving as sporting director for Siirtspor, the club where his career had begun.
