Belgin Şimşek

Belgin Şimşek — Biography

Turkish actress Belgin Şimşek, born in 1996, made her name as Gonca Hatun in Kuruluş: Osman, the historical drama that began in 2019. Gonca, the daughter of Yakub I, the ruler of Germiyan, joined the cast of the ATV production and became the breakthrough of Şimşek's career. She has carried the character forward into the sequel series Kuruluş: Orhan (2025), and the two productions are what she is best known for today.

An Istanbul native, Şimşek studied computer programming in high school before graduating with honours in electroneurophysiology. She completed her acting training at the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center. Her television roles include Heves in Benim Hayatım on Star TV and Ela in Canım Annem on TV8, and Yasak Elma (2018) also appears on her résumé. Gonca Hatun, which followed these parts, turned her into one of the recognised faces of the Kuruluş series.

In October 2025, around the launch of Kuruluş: Orhan, she spoke about Gonca Hatun's story. In an interview in July 2024 she described stage acting as the peak of the profession and said she would like to take a role in a theatre production.
