Bedük — Biography

Bedük, born Serhat Bedük in Ankara, is a Turkish musician, composer, songwriter and producer who records under his surname alone. His year of birth is disputed: the Turkish and English Wikipedia entries and DBpedia all give 20 April 1979, while Wikidata records 1980 and both the French Wikipedia article and IMDb list 1983; the majority of sources point to 1979. He studied graphic design at Bilkent University.

His first album, Nefes Almak Zor, appeared in 2004 on İrem Records and was credited to his given name, Serhat. The 2007 follow-up Even Better, issued by Audiology Records, brought his commercial breakthrough, and Dance Revolution (2009) widened his audience further. A fourth album, GO, arrived in February 2010 with twelve electro-pop and dance tracks.

Alongside music he has worked on screen: IMDb credits him as a driver in the film Durak (2017) and associates him with Hadi İnşallah (2014) and 4N1K (2017). He spent a period living in London, telling an interviewer in 2021 that Istanbul had made him burn bright quickly while London settled him. In 2026 he returned to attention with the Silk Orient project and a run of festival appearances.
