Bayram Bektaş — Biography
Bayram Bektaş is a former player and manager who was part of Beşiktaş's centenary-year championship squad and later went from assistant to Şenol Güneş to managing Süper Lig sides. He holds a UEFA Pro licence and speaks fluent French from his youth years at Auxerre. His most recent job was at Kahramanmaraş İstiklalspor, which ended in March 2026.
He started in Auxerre's youth system and turned professional in Turkey with Bilecikspor. He won the 1. A move to Trabzonspor produced no appearances; he played for Konyaspor and Kocaelispor and retired in 2007 at 33 because of injuries.
His second career began as an administrative manager at Sivasspor, followed by spells as Bülent Uygun's assistant at Bucaspor, Eskişehirspor, Elazığspor, Gaziantepspor and Qatar's Umm Salal. His first managerial job was Elazığspor in 2015; he then managed Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor, Elazığspor again and Ümraniyespor. In 2018 he took over Göztepe and beat Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor in the Süper Lig. At Ankaragücü in December 2018 he lasted less than a month. He was an assistant on Şenol Güneş's staffs with the national team and at Beşiktaş, coached Kayserispor in 2020, and signed for Samsunspor in 2022.
