Başak Gündoğdu — Biography
Başak Gündoğdu was born on 23 April 1992 in the Şişli district of Istanbul. A forward, she became one of the better-known figures in Turkish women's football.
She spent the bulk of her career at Beşiktaş, playing in the Turkish women's league for the club from 2015 until 2026 and wearing the number 15 shirt. Internationally she came through the Turkey girls' under-17 set-up before going on to the Turkey women's national team.
In July 2026 she announced her retirement from playing, and Beşiktaş published a farewell message to her. She then moved into an administrative role, being appointed the club's Football Operations and Foreign Relations Officer within its women's football structure. In 2024 she was among the names featured in TikTok's "Inspiring Women" selection.
