Barış Örücü was born on 10 May 1992 in Krefeld, Germany, and holds both Turkish and German citizenship. Usually deployed as an attacking midfielder or winger, he grew up in Germany and represented the German national team at under-18 level before later being called up to Turkey's 'A2' national team.
He began his professional career at MSV Duisburg in Germany before transferring to Bursaspor in 2011, marking the start of his career in Turkish football. He went on to play for clubs including Konyaspor and İstanbulspor, and after becoming a free agent in 2020 spent time away from the game before returning to competitive football with Nazilli Belediyespor in 2023.
