Barış Memiş is an attacking midfielder from Akçaabat who came through the Trabzonspor academy; he is also remembered for being given the number 61, the city code of Trabzon, in 2008-09. He was in the Trabzonspor squad for the 2009-10 Turkish Cup and the 2010 Super Cup.
He was spotted by coach Salim Doğan at school trials and signed a youth contract in 2002. After the first half of the season with the reserve side he was promoted to the first team at the 2007-08 winter camp at Ersun Yanal's request; his first official match was a Turkish Cup tie against MKE Kırıkkalespor on 4 January 2008, in which he scored a minute after coming on. He scored his first league goal against Kasımpaşa, finished the season with 2 goals in 15 matches, and his goal against Denizlispor was voted goal of the year on a fan site. He later gave up the number 61 and wore 11.
