Barış Hersek — Biography

Barış Hersek was born on 26 March 1988 in Kırklareli, Turkey. Standing around 2.06 meters tall, he began his athletic career in high jump in 1998, winning a Turkish title in that discipline before turning to basketball, where he went on to play at the power forward position. He started out in Beşiktaş's youth ranks and later played professionally for clubs including Karşıyaka, Fenerbahçe, and Fethiye Belediyespor.

A long-serving member of the Turkish national team, Hersek earned more than 150 caps and was part of the squad that won gold at the 2013 Mediterranean Games. Over the course of his career he collected numerous championships with his various clubs, establishing himself as one of the enduring figures of Turkish basketball.
