Barış Ataş — Biography

Barış Ataş (born 1 February 1987 in Kulp, Diyarbakır) is a retired Turkish footballer. An attacking player, he was nicknamed the "atom ant" in the Turkish press for his mobility.

After a childhood described in the press as marked by hardship, he established himself in professional football and reached the Süper Lig when he signed for Trabzonspor in the summer of 2010. Injuries repeatedly interrupted his career, and in 2015 he spoke publicly of his aim to return to the pitch.

He subsequently played for Adanaspor and Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyespor before joining Amed Sportif Faaliyetler in 2018, where he spent the closing years of his career.
