Barbaros Barut — Biography

Barbaros Bahadır Barut (born 26 January 1983 in Munich), nicknamed "Barbi", is a German-born Turkish former footballer who played as a defensive midfielder.

He began his career in Germany with Bayern Munich and its reserve side, as well as Unterhaching, Rot-Weiss Essen and Greuther Fürth, before playing in Turkey first for Kasımpaşa and then, from 2008, for Ankaragücü; he left Konyaspor, whom he had joined for the 2010-11 season, midway through that season to sign for Adanaspor, then moved to Boluspor at the start of 2012-13.

A season later he left Boluspor and transferred to Manisaspor in 2013; after the club was forced to play in the TFF Second League the following season despite not being relegated in the summer of 2015, Barut stayed on and helped it win that league and move back up a division. Despite that success he transferred to city rivals, fourth-tier club Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyespor, in the summer of 2016, making 17 league appearances in his first season there before failing to make the squad in his second; he was without a club from 1 July 2018 until January 2019. In January 2019 he joined sixth-tier German side BCF Wolfratshausen, retiring from playing in May 2019 after eight league matches. He also represented Turkey at under-17 and under-21 level.
