Bahtıyar Can Vanlı — Biography

Bahtıyar Can Vanlı is a German-Turkish football coach born in Adana in November 1962. He spent a significant part of his career on the Turkish national team's coaching staff, serving as an assistant to Şenol Güneş at the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan and the 2003 Confederations Cup in France, where he was noted for his opponent scouting and video-based tactical work.

After working with several clubs in Germany across both women's and men's football, Vanlı moved abroad, taking charge of VB Sports Club in the Maldives, where he won the national championship, the Charity Shield and the President's Cup between 2010 and 2011. He went on to coach established Lebanese clubs Al Ahed and Safa, and later helped Ghana's Accra Hearts of Oak escape relegation with a strong finish to the season. In Turkey, he also served as head coach of Yeni Kırşehirspor.

Recognized as an early adopter of computer-assisted video analysis, Vanlı is regarded as a pioneer of tactical video scouting in Turkish football.
