Bahar Candan — Biography

Bahar Candan was born on 17 February 1998; her birthplace is usually given as Mersin, though some sources name İstanbul instead. She is the middle daughter of educator and academic Hakan Candan and the sister of Nihal Candan. She often speaks about her father, describing him as a devout, conservative man who prays and fasts. She studied at the Faculty of Law of Beykent University and has said she intends to become a lawyer.

Her wider fame came from İşte Benim Stilim, the style competition broadcast on Tv8 whose judging panel included İvana Sert, Nur Yerlitaş and Kemal Doğulu. In 2017 she also tried her hand at music, performing a song called "Dondurma Gibisin" on that programme, and the performance drew considerable attention at the time. She later took part in the show Doya Doya Moda, which put her name back in the headlines.

Known for her voice, her dress sense and her distinctive personality, Candan is a regular subject of celebrity coverage and draws notice for her bold social media posts. Her description of her Instagram account as a space meant only for an elite audience has been part of that attention.
