Ayhan Gezen — Biography
Ayhan Gezen is a Turkish-German former footballer, born on 23 June 1972 in Istanbul. He held dual citizenship in Turkey and Germany and played mainly as a forward.
He began his professional career in 1990 with Hertha BSC's reserve side, part of the surprise "Hertha-Bubis" squad that advanced all the way to the 1993 DFB-Pokal final; he also made 14 appearances for Hertha's first team in the 2. Bundesliga. He subsequently turned out for FC Berlin, Rot-Weiß Erfurt, Berliner FC Dynamo (BFC Dynamo), SV Altlüdersdorf and Spandauer SV.
One of the highlights of his career came on 11 May 1999, when BFC Dynamo defeated Berlin Türkspor 1965 4-1 in the 1998-99 Berlin Cup final at the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark; Gezen scored in that match, helping the club claim its first Berlin Cup title.
