Ayhan Akman — Biography
Ayhan Akman (born 23 February 1977 in İnegöl, Bursa) is a Turkish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder and later worked as a coach. He began his career at Gaziantepspor and also played for Beşiktaş before joining Galatasaray.
He spent the longest stretch of his career at Galatasaray, playing for the Istanbul club from 2001 until his retirement in 2012, and represented the Turkey national team from 1998. During his career he was suspended from football for six months after testing positive for a banned substance.
After retiring he moved into coaching, serving as an assistant manager and later assistant football director at Galatasaray before leaving the club at the end of 2025. His sons Hamza and Efe are also footballers.
