Atiye — Biography
Deniz Atiye Yılmaz (born 22 November 1988 in Bremen, West Germany) is a Turkish-German pop singer and songwriter, initially known under the stage name Atiye Deniz and later by the mononym Atiye. She rose to fame in Turkey with her 2006 debut single "Don't Think," which earned her the Best Breakout Female Artist award at the 2007 Kral Turkey Music Awards. Her debut studio album, "Gözyaşlarım," followed later that year, featuring songs in both Turkish and English.
Her second album, "Atiye," produced by İskender Paydaş and released in 2009, spawned the hit singles "Muamma" and "Salla," while "Kal," a duet with Teoman, was used as the theme song for a Turkish television series. Atiye became the first Turkish singer to attend the Grammy Awards and was later named Europe's top Turkish act at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards. Besides her native Turkish, she is fluent in Dutch, French, German, English and Spanish.
As of summer 2026, Atiye, already a mother of three daughters, announced she was expecting her fourth child while continuing to perform on stage throughout the pregnancy.
