Arzum Onan — Biography

Arzum Onan was born on 31 October 1973 in Ankara, the only child of a civil-servant family, and finished secondary school in Istanbul after starting out in her hometown. She entered modelling with an agency in 1992, and the following year won both a national and a European beauty title, which brought her wider recognition. That success led to an advertising campaign and, in 1997, to acting: she joined the television series Sıcak Saatler, a project that ran for four seasons and paired her on screen with her husband at the time, Mehmet Aslantuğ.

She went on to appear in series such as Merdoğlu, Zeybek Ateşi, Sahra and Sessiz Fırtına, plus the film Aşkın İkinci Yarısı, while continuing advertising work for several brands. She married Aslantuğ in 1996 and the couple divorced in 2023; they have a son born in 2000. Since 2004 Onan has worked as a sculptor, showing solo exhibitions in cities across Turkey and taking part in group shows in Milan and New York.
