Arzu Özyiğit — Biography

Arzu Özyiğit is a former Turkish basketball player, born on 16 October 1972 in Tarsus and standing 1.88 m tall. She began her career with Botaş Spor in Adana in 1984, went on to play for İYSK, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, transferred to the Greek club Panserraikos in 2002, and later returned home to play for Fenerbahçe, Kocaeli Belediyespor and Beşiktaş. The only player to win championships with all three of Turkey's biggest clubs — Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş — she claimed 18 titles with her clubs overall and set a national record with 190 caps for the senior national team.

Özyiğit captained the national team to gold at the 2005 Mediterranean Games, though she was unable to play in the final due to her pregnancy; the team dedicated the medal to her. After retiring as a player, she coached Turkey's under-20 women's national team in 2009 and subsequently moved into club administration. Appointed general manager of Fenerbahçe's women's basketball team in 2019, she left the role for a period before returning to Fenerbahçe in 2025, a position she continues to hold as of 2026.
