Arif Morkaya — Biography
Arif Morkaya was born on 30 May 1989 in the Eminönü district of Istanbul, although some sources give his birthday as 20 May. A midfielder, he spent most of his career in the lower divisions of Turkish football.
He began his playing career at Bakırköyspor in 2006-07 and moved to İstanbulspor the next season. His best seasons came with Darıca Gençlerbirliği; he went to 1461 Trabzon in 2012 and to Altınordu in 2013. At Altınordu he played for a long time and served as club captain, and it was there that he won the Red Group of the 2. Lig in 2013-14.
He joined Ankaragücü in 2017 and helped the side win promotion to the Süper Lig. He made his top-flight debut on 10 August 2018, in a 3-1 defeat against Galatasaray. In July 2023 news appeared of Altınordu signing him again, and third-tier club Karabük İdmanyurdu also features among the stops in his career.
