Alperen Babacan — Biography
Alperen Babacan, a centre-back who came through in Denizli, has won the First League title with three different clubs: Denizlispor (2018-19), MKE Ankaragücü (2021-22) and Gençlerbirliği (2024-25). He plays for Bursaspor, with whom he signed in May 2025.
His professional path began in his home town with Denizlispor, where he came through the youth system: he made his first-team debut on 6 December 2014 in a 2-2 draw with Karşıyaka. He played three seasons in the First League and, in his last one, scored five goals from right-back. In summer 2017 he moved to Akhisarspor, and on 9 December 2017 he made his first Süper Lig appearance in a 4-2 defeat at Galatasaray, the only match he played for them in the first half of that season. He spent the second half of that season and all of 2018-19 back at Denizlispor on loan; in 2018-19 he played 30 of the league's 34 matches and helped the team win the title and reach the Süper Lig. Before 2019-20 he returned to Akhisarspor, who held his registration.
He transferred to Ankaragücü on 29 January 2021 and won the First League again with the club in 2021-22. In January 2023 he joined Gençlerbirliği on a one-and-a-half-year deal and was champion with them in 2024-25. After agreeing terms with Bursaspor in May 2025, Babacan said he felt very lucky to be joining.
