Alper Yılmaz — Biography

Alper Tunca Yılmaz was born on 28 March 1975 in Ankara and began playing basketball there at the age of nine. Standing 1.98 meters tall, he started his professional career at Ormanspor before moving on to Türk Telekom and Tofaş. When Tofaş withdrew from the league, he transferred to Anadolu Efes in 2000, where he spent six seasons and eventually served as team captain.

He later returned to Türk Telekom, the club where he had turned professional, before playing for TTNet Beykoz and Erdemirspor as the roster situation at Türk Telekom changed. After retiring as a player, Yılmaz moved into basketball management, and as of 2026 he remains active in an executive capacity at Anadolu Efes, where he has been involved in the club's transfer dealings.
