Alpay — Biography

Born Ahmet Alpay Nazikioğlu in Ankara in 1935, Alpay studied law at Ankara University but ultimately chose a career in music instead. He launched his singing career in 1960 and, over the following decades, moved across styles ranging from romantic folk to rock, also recording Turkish-language versions of French and Italian songs that contributed to the era's melodic pop wave.

He is best remembered for the hit songs "Eylülde Gel" and "Fabrika Kızı." Across a career spanning several decades as both a recording artist and composer, Alpay is regarded as one of the veteran figures of Turkish pop music.
