Alpaslan Eradlı — Biography

Alpaslan Eradlı (born 9 November 1948 in Istanbul) is a former Turkish international footballer regarded as one of the finest sweepers in the history of Turkish football. He began playing at amateur level with Istanbul club Cerrahpaşa Spor Kulübü, made his professional debut with İstanbulspor, and moved to Fenerbahçe in 1973.

He remained with Fenerbahçe until 1983, making 414 appearances and scoring 38 goals. After club legend Cemil Turan retired in 1980, Eradlı took over as team captain, a role he held until the end of his career, while also captaining the Turkish national team during the same period. His calm, technically elegant style of play drew comparisons to German star Franz Beckenbauer. He won 26 caps for Turkey's senior national team and 4 for the under-21 side.

Eradlı retired from football in 1983 and continues to be regarded by Fenerbahçe fans and the club itself as one of the most significant figures in its history.
