Ali Tutal — Biography

Mehmet Ali Tutal, better known simply as Ali Tutal, was a Turkish actor born in 1950 in Diyarbakır. Alongside a background in advertising, he built a screen career spanning roughly four decades across both film and television, and he also worked as a dubbing supervisor. He became especially recognized for his convincing portrayals of Anatolian characters and for dubbing performances delivered in regional accents.

His filmography includes Kaçak (1983), Asmalı Konak, Hoşçakal Yarın, Güneşi Gördüm (I Saw the Sun), Hükümet Kadın and Eve Dönüş, among many other film and television credits accumulated over his long career.

Tutal died in Istanbul on 22 February 2026. Following his death, colleagues and fans gathered for a memorial ceremony at the Atlas Cinema, where he was remembered as a beloved and down-to-earth performer.
