Ali Tandoğan — Biography
Ali Tandoğan (born 25 December 1977 in Salihli) is a former Turkey international footballer and a coach who played at right back and on the right wing. Turkish Wikipedia gives only Manisa as his birthplace, while more detailed records point to Salihli, a district of Manisa province. He is 1.75 m tall and was noted for his set-piece delivery and a powerful right foot.
He turned out for Adana Demirspor, Antalyaspor, Bursaspor, Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor, Gençlerbirliği, Mersin İdmanyurdu, Beşiktaş and Denizlispor, wearing the number 22 shirt at Beşiktaş. He became most closely identified with Denizlispor, where more than 150 first and second division appearances made him one of the club's most-used players of all time. He also represented Turkey at under-21 and senior level.
After retiring he moved into management, taking charge of Denizlispor in April 2021 - his first match was away to MKE Ankaragücü - and most recently managing Şanlıurfaspor. Over the same period he became a familiar pundit, regularly giving interviews and analysis to Turkish sports television and newspapers.
