Ali İhsan Karayiğit — Biography
Ali İhsan Karayiğit was born on 1 July 1927 in Salihli, Manisa Province, and began playing football in Balıkesir. His strong performances in Turkish championship matches quickly drew the attention of major clubs, and in 1948 he transferred from Manisa Gençlikspor to Beşiktaş.
He played for Beşiktaş until the end of the 1957-58 season, winning three Istanbul League titles, two Federation Cup championships and one Turkish national title during that period, and earned 13 caps for the Turkey national team. He moved to Adalet at the start of the 1958-59 season and retired from active football a year later.
After retiring, Karayiğit worked briefly as a sports journalist before becoming a Beşiktaş club member in 1960. He served for many years on the club's Divan Kurulu (board of trustees), coached the Beşiktaş youth team for a period, and later managed the BJK Ahmet Fetgeri Sports Hall for a long time. He died in Istanbul on 18 March 2013 and was buried at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
