Aksel Aktaş — Biography
Aksel Aktaş was born on 15 July 1999 in Audincourt, France. A midfielder of Turkish descent, he holds French and Turkish citizenship. He came through the Sochaux academy, where he had been since 2007, and signed his first professional contract with the club on 16 September 2016. He made his first-team debut on 9 December 2016, aged 17, in a 1-0 Ligue 2 win over Amiens SC.
On 13 July 2018 he signed a three-year contract with Ligue 1 club Stade de Reims, playing for the reserve side. He moved to Kayserispor in the Süper Lig on 12 August 2019, and the club released him in August 2020. He joined Gençlerbirliği in 2021 and Bandırmaspor in January 2023. He has also played for Fatih Karagümrük, Adana Demirspor and Tuzlaspor.
Internationally, he started with France's under-16 side and scored in the first minute of a 3-0 friendly win over Morocco. He later chose Turkey, was called up for the 2018 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and made his Turkey U19 debut on 5 July 2018 in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Finland. He also played for France at under-18 level.
