Akif Başaran — Biography
Mehmet Akif Başaran (born 15 February 1956 in İzmir) is a Turkish former footballer and manager who played as a midfielder.
The Turkish Wikipedia lists him among the former players of Altay and Beşiktaş. After retiring he turned to coaching, spending most of his managerial career in the lower divisions of Turkish football.
In December 2013 he spoke to the press as head coach of Akçaabat FK. He took charge of Aydınspor 1923 in September 2014, and in December 2017 signed with the same club again, an appointment the local press announced under the headline "a new coach for the Efe".
