Ahmet Şahin — Biography
Ahmet Şahin is a Turkish goalkeeper born on 22 March 1978 in Istanbul. He began his football career in the youth ranks of Yıldırım Bosnaspor, signed his first professional contract with Karagümrükspor, and made his professional debut in a third-tier match in 1996. He then spent three seasons at İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor before moving on to Kocaelispor, Diyarbakırspor and, later, Trabzonspor.
The turning point of his career came at Samsunspor, where he quickly became a fan favourite after joining in 2009, was voted the club's player of the year in both 2010 and 2011, and conceded few goals as the team won the second-tier title in the 2010-11 season. He went on to win a further second-division title with Balıkesirspor, helped Mersin İdmanyurdu earn promotion to the Süper Lig through the play-offs, and turned out for Elazığspor, Osmanlıspor and Karabükspor, captaining the last of these. Later in his career he played for Giresunspor and third-tier side Kemerspor. Şahin is married and has a daughter named Yağmur.
