Ahmed Kutucu — Biography

Ahmed Kutucu is a forward who grew up in Germany and rose from Schalke 04's academy to the Champions League; after helping Eyüpspor win promotion to the Süper Lig in Turkey, he moved on to Galatasaray. With Galatasaray he won the Süper Lig in 2024-25 and 2025-26 and the Turkish Cup in 2024-25, and he was loaned to Çaykur Rizespor for the 2026-27 season.

He began at Sportfreunde Haverkamp in 2003, then joined Rot-Weiss Essen in 2006 and Schalke's academy in 2011. On 11 December 2018 he came on in the 72nd minute against Lokomotiv Moscow for his Champions League debut with Schalke, and on 22 December he scored his first Bundesliga goal away at Stuttgart. He was loaned to Heracles Almelo in January 2021, moved to İstanbul Başakşehir in July 2021 and was loaned to SV Sandhausen of the 2. Bundesliga in January 2022. His breakthrough came with Eyüpspor in 2023: he scored 14 goals and made four assists in his first season as the team won the First League and went up to the Süper Lig. In January 2025 he signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Galatasaray; he came on as a substitute in his first game against Konyaspor on 25 January and scored his first goal in the fifth minute at Gaziantep on 3 February.

For Turkey he opened the scoring with a header against New Zealand at the 2017 Under-17 World Cup and played three games at the 2018 Under-19 European Championship. He was first called up to the senior side in 2019 under Şenol Güneş and made his debut against Andorra on 17 November 2019.
