Afroditi Skafida — Biography

Afroditi Skafida was born in Athens on 20 March 1982. A former Greek pole vaulter and now a track-and-field and fitness coach with a degree in physical education, she competed throughout her career for Olympiacos and later AEK, winning the Greek outdoor title four times and the indoor title three times.

At the 2004 Athens Olympics she competed in her home city as the host nation's athlete but failed to record a mark after not clearing 4.00 meters in qualifying. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics she improved to clear 4.30 meters, though she still finished 19th and did not advance to the final. Over her career she set the Greek national record eight times.

In 2019 Skafida represented Greece on the reality competition Survivor and reached the final, later returning for Survivor All Star in 2023. In February 2024 she married former weightlifter and three-time Olympic champion Pyrros Dimas, and the couple's daughter was born later that year.
