Adem Büyük — Biography

Adem Büyük is a Turkish football manager and former international player, born on 30 August 1987 in Hopa, Artvin. A striker who could also operate on the left wing, he began in the youth setup of his hometown club Artvin Hopaspor, moved through Arhavispor and joined Beşiktaş, where his 26 goals in 28 matches made him top scorer of the reserve league in 2004-05. Unable to break into the senior side, he gained experience on loan at Zeytinburnuspor, Akçaabat Sebatspor and Altay, scoring 16 goals in one season with the latter.

After moving to Manisaspor in 2008, further loans followed at Boluspor and Mersin İdmanyurdu, where his goals helped end the club's long absence from the Süper Lig. He then spent over five years at Kasımpaşa, contributing to their promotion, before joining Yeni Malatyaspor in 2017, where he became captain. A 2019 move to Galatasaray brought a Turkish Super Cup and his first Champions League goal. Returning to Yeni Malatyaspor, he finished the 2021-22 season as the league's highest-scoring Turkish player and briefly served as player-coach, before later turning out for Manisa FK. He represented Turkey at senior level as well as with the U-18 and U-21 teams, making his full international debut against Northern Ireland in 2013.
