Abdülkadir Ömür — Biography

Abdülkadir Ömür is an attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wing, who came through the Trabzonspor academy and was part of the club's 2022 league title. A Hull City player in England since 2024, he has also returned to the Süper Lig on loan at Çaykur Rizespor and Antalyaspor and plays for the Turkey national team.

Born in Çarşıbaşı, Ömür was spotted by Trabzonspor scouts while playing for school teams and was registered with the club in 2011. He won the Turkish title with the U-16 side in 2014-15 and signed a professional contract in 2015. That year UEFA's young-talent feature compared his style to Messi and Hagi, and in 2016 he was the only Turkish player on The Guardian's list of 60 talents born in 1999. He made his first official appearance in the cup in January 2016, and his Süper Lig debut and first goal followed in December 2016. He settled into the first team in 2017-18. In 2021-22 he contributed 7 goals and 3 assists in 38 matches to Trabzonspor's league title, and he also won the Turkish Cup and Super Cup.

In February 2024 he moved to Hull City. He made his senior Turkey debut on 30 May 2019 against Greece. He has said he took inspiration from Iniesta for game intelligence and from Luka Modrić for his balance of attack and defence.
