Abdi Aktaş — Biography

Abdi Aktaş is a former footballer whose longest and best-known spell came at TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor. He left the club at times but kept coming back, which made him a crowd favourite in Tavşanlı; he is known as "Efsane Kaptan" ("Legendary Captain") and has the respect of the club's officials. After his playing days he moved into administration and coaching.

He began in Karşıyaka's youth system and signed a professional contract in 1995, but was judged not yet ready for the first team and was loaned to Çanspor in the 3rd League to gain experience. He spent 1995-96 on loan at Bandırmaspor and moved to Malatyaspor, then a 1st League side, in 1996-97; after two official matches there he finished the season on loan at Kütahyaspor. He joined Kütahyaspor permanently in 2000-01, was a regular starter for five seasons, and played a part in the side's 3rd League title and promotion to the 2nd League that season.

After Kütahyaspor he played in turn for Akhisar Belediyespor, TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor and Kemalpaşa Belediyesi Ulucak Spor, and won another 3rd League title with Tavşanlı in 2005-06. At the start of 2009-10 he returned to Tavşanlı and contributed to the team's promotion from the 2nd League to the 1st League. He moved to İstanbul Güngörenspor at the start of 2013-14 and came back to Tavşanlı at the mid-season break. In 2021 he became sporting director of Belediye Kütahyaspor, and in January 2025 he joined Efrahim Alkın's staff at Uşakspor as assistant coach.
